What is CGH substrate error and how does it get subtracted?

CGH substrate error is the transmitted wavefront error of the glass substrate that the CGH pattern is printed on. This error will imprint on measurement data unless it is subtracted out.

AOM measures and provides a substrate error map with every CGH, and offers Morpheus™, a software solution to automatically subtract this map from measurement data.

If desired, for CGHs designed with a collimated input beam, CGH substrate error can be measured and subtracted in situ.
