University of Arizona graduate students were challenged to design their own computer-generated holograms (CGHs) following a guest lecture by AOM’s Dr. Logan Rodriguez Graves. These tiny, 2-inch holograms can replace the complex null corrector (which was the size of a refrigerator!) that was used to test the Hubble Primary. The students submitted their designs to our AOM team and received their own personalized CGHs—a world-class metrology solution, in the palm of their hands.
